The AST-RAPID-READER is a secure access control reader designed for sites requiring encrypted credential authentication with support for mobile and physical credentials. Built around Astuto RAPID site-specific encryption technology, it delivers controlled access management while helping protect credential data and reduce the risk of unauthorised duplication.

Supporting both NFC and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) credentials, the reader enables organisations to deploy traditional cards and tags alongside smartphone-based access solutions. When used with the U-Prox Mobile ID application, compatible smartphones can function as secure credentials, providing a convenient alternative to physical cards and fobs.

The reader supports both OSDP and Wiegand communication protocols, making it suitable for integration with a wide range of access control systems. SIA OSDP verification helps support secure communication between the reader and controller, while flexible wiring distances allow deployment across a variety of commercial, industrial, education and multi-site environments.

Designed for both indoor and outdoor installations, the reader features an IP65-rated housing and supports adjustable Bluetooth read distances. Multiple operating modes allow installers to tailor the user experience for doors, turnstiles, gates and vehicle access applications.

Astuto RAPID credentials are factory programmed with site-specific encryption keys, providing a tightly controlled credential ecosystem where authentication remains fast, secure and managed for each protected site.
