It uses a SATA interface with CMR recording technology, helium drive technology, RV sensors, a 512 MB cache and 7200 RPM operation for demanding video storage workloads.

Built for advanced AI-enabled recorders, video storage servers and video management systems, this WD Purple Pro drive supports up to 64 HD cameras and 32 AI streams in suitable system configurations. Its enterprise-class profile includes an annualised workload rating of up to 550 TB/year, up to 2.5 million hours MTBF and a 5-year limited warranty for high-end video storage deployments.
